Museum of Russian Art
The works of the artists of one of the most interesting periods of Russian culture, the "Silver Age" (end of the XIX century - beginning of the XX century), are summarized in the Museum of Russian Art in Yerevan. The exhibition of the museum is the personal collection of the famous doctor, professor Aram Abrahamyan. The Museum of Russian Culture was founded in 1980, but it opened its doors to visitors 4 years later, on November 19, 1984.
Professor Abrahamyan, was an excellent surgeon-clinician and scientist, also had a great love for art, especially Russian art, and for the art of a certain period: the end of the 19th century, the beginning of the 20th century. And despite the fact that in that period social realism ruled and the Russian avant-garde was not respected, Aram Abrahamyan was able to create his unique and unrepeatable collection, the value of which is highly valued. The collection of the museum includes more than 350 works, where you can see examples of painting, drawing, sculpture and decorative-applied art.
